Hello there! My name is Miranda. I am a stay at home mother to a vibrant preschooler and a toddler who is obsessed with whatever her sister has. Ever since I read House in the Big Woods as a young girl, I’ve been fascinated with living respectfully and authentically with roots deep in the earth.

I am excited to venture from a parenting a preschooler to full time homeschooling a kindergarten student very soon. I was home-educated from 1st through 12th grade and thoroughly enjoyed the space to become myself while developing a lifelong love for learning.

I’m imperfectly pursuing living a lower waste lifestyle while sourcing our food sustainably and humanely on a budget. Often this means trial and error (mostly error) with making food and household goods from scratch. I grew up in 4-H being exposed to so many aspects of knowing the roots of where your daily necessities come from. Whether it was carding wool to create yarn to weave household decor, to preserving jams, jellies, and fruit leathers, or making breads or caring for second hand clothes to make sustainable clothing choices.

I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and I love exploring state parks, being outside, and experiencing and supporting native cultures and the many diverse voices our area is lucky to have.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I look forward to our many conversations together.
